College Azimuth is an independent data initiative founded by Daniel Rogers. While we utilize verified federal data from the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard, this platform is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of any government agency. Our analysis, rankings, and tools represent independent research and do not reflect official government positions.
We believe every student deserves access to transparent, outcomes-based data when making one of life's biggest financial decisions.
Traditional college rankings focus on prestige and selectivity. College Azimuth focuses on what actually matters: What do graduates earn? How much debt do they carry? Does this school create opportunity for students from all backgrounds?
We built the tools we wish existed when we were choosing colleges.

Founder, College Azimuth
Over the past 10 years as a startup founder and non-profit executive, I had countless conversations with families, students, counselors, and policymakers about how to pay for college. To prepare for those conversations, I spent a large amount of time analyzing the data behind higher education. But those insights never really went anywhere beyond those conversations.
College Azimuth is my attempt to change that. The federal government publishes incredible data about college outcomes, but it's buried in spreadsheets that most families will never find. I built Azimuth to make that data accessible and understandable for people without MBAs and advanced analytics degrees—the families actually making these decisions.
I hold an MBA in Analytical Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where I've served as a Social Enterprise Coach for the past 7 years.
Previously, I founded a social enterprise focused on making affordable loans accessible to low-income college students—students like I once was. In that role, I raised capital from major philanthropic foundations, venture capitalists, and private investors to help families bridge the gap in paying for college. I've also worked as a non-profit executive, at a venture philanthropy fund, and as an early employee at Uber.
Before business school, I attended American University. I served as an Army Scout and later as a U.S. Diplomat focused on complex emergencies.
