How this list is ordered
Schools are ordered by the median earnings of their Health Professions graduates four years after completing, highest first. Only schools with a reported Health Professions earnings cohort in the Midwest appear. The figure captures federally aided completers who were working and not enrolled four years after finishing. For 11 of the 267 listed programs the figure is the two-year completion median rather than the four-year one. The metric does not adjust for graduate school enrollment, cost, or who enrolls, and it is not a measure of teaching quality. The range and median below cover the 221 schools with a published figure. Nebraska Wesleyan University and Augsburg University sit at the top separated by just $70, while the spread from first to last reaches $71,608.
Job market context in the Midwest
Health Professions graduates in the Midwest enter occupations such as Nursing Assistants, Registered Nurses, and Medical Assistants. Across those occupations the median annual wage is $64,789, and a quarter of workers in those occupations earn less than $54,827. Projected annual openings total 330,740, or about 492 openings a year for every hundred graduates, with more projected openings than graduates. Projections for 2024 to 2034 put employment in those occupations about 7.0% higher. Wages and top occupations exclude management occupations; openings include them. The ranking above uses graduate earnings four years after completing, not the occupation-wide wages described here.
